"If a tree were to fall on an island where there were no human beings would there be any sound?"
This is a paradox which befuddles metaphysicists. Very simply put it just means that for anything to exist it should be perceived, witnessed or felt! As clinicians we do some amazing work in our clinics. Some of this work is plain routine, some of it is textbook perfect and a small percentage might even be heroic. Heroic in the effort that a dentist takes to restore the form and function of a patient's dentition!
All this effort is, however, wasted because it has not been witnessed or shared with anyone. We have to start sharing our clinical experiences positive or otherwise with each other. Publishing Case Reports in journals is a good way to garner a wide and varied audience. We have improved the scope of our journal by creating a separate section for Case Reports. We are looking forward to a lot of case reports coming in from all of you…
So I exhort all our readers to actively make a noise and start publishing their clinical experiences. The reach of our journal is so pervasive that you are assured a lot of witnesses….
Happy publishing!
